Wheelchair Foundation Distributes in Afghanistan

State Dept. photo.The Wheelchair Foundation joined with the Ministry of Martyrs & Disabled, the Comprehensive Disabled Afghans’ Programme (a UNDP/UNOPS initiative), and the United States Departments of Defense and State to begin the distribution of more than 5,000 wheelchairs to disabled Afghans.

Dutch Foreign Minister Jakob de Hoop Scheffer has been appointed as the next NATO Secretary General, for the term beginning in January 2004.


The State Department and the Agency for International Development (USAID)'s Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2004 to 2009 sets forth the Secretary of State’s direction and priorities for both organizations in the coming years.
