Welcome to the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board Web Site. We have been working since February of 1998 to provide a comprehensive Angling Information and Advisory Service for anglers visiting the Shannon Region. The site acts as a marketing tool to promote tourism angling and to profile the Fisheries Board's activities and service function which includes Fishery Development, Conservation, Education and more recently the adoption of Catchment Management as a process for the future sustainable management and development of our fisheries.

Fishing - Planning a Fishing Holiday

We provide comprehensive Angling Guides for Game, Coarse & Pike and Sea Fishing which are updated regularly. Fishing reports including lots of  additional and supplementary information on fishing the region is provided. We offer a support and advisory service by telephone and email to assist visiting anglers which deals with such topics as fishing advice to assisting plans for fishing holidays to the region.

Promotion & Marketing - Advertising Service

With the site being highly ranked across all the major search engines and specialist angling and other directories, and linked from a couple of thousand web pages around the net, traffic is steadily building and the site is now attracting an average of  between 1000 and 2500+  page views every day (not hits which is often misleadingly used as a measure of a site's popularity) We market extensively by targeting angling communities online here at home and abroad and through the dissemination of various print material at angling fairs and at seminars.  We support angling and publish regular fishing reports which are widely read both on this site and through Irish Angling Update published by the Central Fisheries Board. In addition these reports reach all the Angling Journalists which feature in several Irish and International Angling Publications. This website provides the ideal marketing platform for Accommodation & Service providers to advertise and we encourage you to be associated.  We charge a small advertising fee which is affordable for even the most modest of operators with very small marketing budgets, fee for 2003 is  €45.00 for entry level advertising. See our Accommodation Finder and Service Finder facility. Those who wish to use these resources to advertise may book advertising space by submitting our relevant online application form. In addition, we will be providing advertising opportunities in our Online Shopping Section during 2003 for those interested in a more profile presence at again very reasonable rates to be decided.
