About the LSA (List of CFR Sections Affected)

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOW TO USE THIS FINDING AID
The CFR is revised annually according to the following schedule (Extracted from the January 1, 1998, revision of the CFR Index and Finding Aids.):

Title 1 - 16 .. as of January 1..(TXT 168k) (PDF 217k)
Title 17 - 27 .. as of April 1....(TXT 116k) (PDF 180k)
Title 28 - 41 .. as of July 1.....(TXT 195k) (PDF 237k)
Title 42 - 50 .. as of October 1..(TXT 215k) (PDF 991k)
To bring these regulations up to date by Searching or Browsing the online LSA Service: (1) consult the most recent issue of the LSA for any changes, additions, or removals published after the revision date of the CFR volume you are using; and (2) then access the Current List of CFR Parts Affected for less detailed but timely changes published after the final date included in the LSA. Though already incorporated in the Current List of CFR Parts Affected, the List of CFR Parts Affected Today is extracted from each issue of the daily Federal Register to assist those monitoring changes on a daily basis.

The page numbers listed to the right of each LSA entry indicate where the specific amendments begin in the Federal Register. These page numbers can be "copied-and-pasted" into the Retrieve a Federal Register Page (in PDF Format) to access the published amendatory actions. In the PDF version of the LSA (that matches the official printed version), Boldface page numbers under a particular title indicate that the page numbers span 2 years. Boldface is used to distinguish the previous year from the current year. The last two digits of the applicable year, separated from the Federal Register page number by a hyphen, have been used in the ASCII text version of the online LSA. When using the "retrieve" feature, the first two digits aid in determining the year to click on and requires the user to "copy-and-paste" only the page number to retrieve the selected Federal Register page.

Cite a page reference from this publication using the volume number (62 FR for 1997, 63 FR for 1998) and the page number. Example: 24727 cite as 62 FR 24727. For your convenience, the volume number has been included in the Table of Federal Register Issue Pages and Dates.

ISSUES TO BE REFERENCED
There is no single annual issue of the LSA. Four ANNUAL ISSUES must be referenced; the DECEMBER issue is the ANNUAL for Titles 1-16; the MARCH issue is the ANNUAL for Titles 17-27; the JUNE issue is the ANNUAL for Titles 28-41; the SEPTEMBER issue is the ANNUAL for Titles 42-50. ANNUAL ISSUES to be saved are clearly designated on the cover of printed issues. The online LSA Service will provide constant access to all these publications.

TABLE OF FEDERAL REGISTER ISSUE PAGES AND DATES
A table is included at the end of the LSA publication which identifies the volume number, the inclusive page numbers, and the corresponding Federal Register issue dates for the period covered.
