ICAO 11TH AIR NAVIGATION CONFERENCE
The ICAO Council decided on 7 June 2002 to convene the Eleventh Air Navigation Conference (AN-Conf/11) in Montreal, from Monday 22 September to Friday 3 October 2003. The Conference will address vital subjects in the fields of air traffic management, communication, navigation, surveillance, aeronautical electromagnetic spectrum, and other related operational issues.

September 15:
Efforts initiated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), have resulted in a historic agreement between Greece and Turkey for the improvement of the air traffic services (ATS) route network over the Aegean Sea. The new ATS route package is set for implementation on 25 December 2003.
September 5:
The United States of America today became the 30th Contracting State of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to ratify the Montreal Convention, which will replace the Warsaw Convention System on compensation in cases of international air accidents. Cameroon also deposited its instrument of ratification on the same day. The Montreal Convention will enter into force 60 days following the deposit of the 30th instrument of ratification with ICAO. Entry into force will therefore occur on 4 November 2003.
