Roger McGough, 'a trickster you can trust', is one of Britain's best-known poetry voices. The award-winning poet, playwright, broadcaster and children's author was born in Liverpool and taught at St Kevin's School, Kirby, Mabel Fletcher College, Liverpool, and the Liverpool College of Art. He was member of the pop music/poetry group 'The Scaffold' between 1963 and 1973. He made his name as one of the 'Liverpool Poets' with Adrian Henri and Brian Patten, published in The Mersey Sound: Penguin Modern Poets 10. He is a member of the executive council of the Poetry Society, and was awarded the OBE in 1997. The NGfL guide to National Computing Day |

 |
National Computing Day is being held on 3 October and aims to improve computer literacy for people from all walks of life. Free sessions are being held all over the country to help people get online for the first time, and advisors will be on hand all day to answer your questions about finding a course in your area. You can find out more about the day from the National Computing Day website, but in the meantime, here are some ideas from the NGfL to help get you started on the internet. |
