Freckles
urgently needs a foster home. Freckles is an 8 yr-old cocker spaniel,
very well behaved and housebroken. His 'Mom' and 'Big Sister' had
to be taken from an abusive domestic situation leaving Freckles
to live with the abuser. And this abuser doesn't like dogs. Mom
and Sis are worried sick and will take Freckles back as soon as
they can get more permanent housing. Call 253-1654.
We have
honor graduates, and we have HONOR graduates, and then we have SADIE.
From unknown beginnings, to a successful career, to abuse, neglect,
and rescue, to amputation, special training, a second successful
career, and finally to the cushy life she deserved. Sadie’s
story is coming soon.
The
next Adoption Fair will be at Pet Food City on
Oct. 25th.
Please read
our tribute
to our oldest residents; Wilma, L. T., Fred, and Darlin'.
They are our oldest residents in both chronological age and 'time
at SOAR'.
Whispy
is a most wonderful, adorable, loving, playful, happy dog. But,
he has bad hips that make it hard for him to walk. He needs at
least one hip replacement - maybe even both. Currently SOAR doesn't
have enough money ($3,200) to pay for the surgery(s). Without
surgery he will be in a lot of pain and will likely develop severe
arthritis. The surgeries cannot be performed until he is 1-year-old
(he is 9-months-old now) so that gives us some time to try to
find an angel who will adopt him and/or pay for his surgery. Please
consider helping and if you send a check for him be sure to write
his name in the memo area.
Our
Members soon will be recognized on our website
and in our newsletters. This is long overdue. Over the years many
people and organizations have donated lots of money and donated
time and time again. SOAR has a debt of gratitude that can never
be repaid or adequately expressed. But we can, and soon will, recognize
these people in the most public of forums that we can.
