Brawley Web Designs started life as Web Sites by Tacklebox when C. Michael Boyle started taking classes full time at Imperial Valley College in 1995. He wanted to finish his formal education, that was aborted in 1970 by circumstances he had no control of.
To earn some extra money to buy the few things that he had become addicted to, like food, housing, etc. he decided to try building web pages for a few friends he'd met at school. After all, how hard could it be! He not only learned that it was harder than it looked, he also learned that it was addictive. Now school is done; however, the addiction and passion for web design and construction remains. And it is still harder than it looks!
Our name was changed in mid 2001 to give us a more recognizable name in our community. We also wanted to let potential clients know that we feel there is more to building a web presence than just putting together a web page. Hence, we became Brawley Web Designs. Some things do not change though. We still design and construct web sites for our friends, and we are always looking for new friends. So, if you are in need of a web site for your business, nonprofit organization, or family, let Brawley Web Designs become your new friend.

Our Mission
To provide each client with the web site they want, and can be proud of, at a cost that is competitive, while maintaining low load times without sacrificing quality.
Our Promise
To make sure that each and every client is 100% satisfied with the product and service we provide.

A Word From Our Founder

One of the first questions that I am asked as soon as people find out that I design and construct web sites is, "How can I build my own web site?" The answer I give them depends on what they want a web site for.
If they want to build a web site for their business, I tell them the best way to "build" their site is to go out and hire a Professional Webmaster. I have seen many businesses try to build their own site, it doesn't take them long to realize how steep the learning curve is for site design and construction. It is steeper than they anticipated. "Why is that?" Let me say something about the people who want to build a personal web site before I answer that.
For the people that want a personal web site, my answer is quite simple. Learn HTML first. Sure there are some very good cut and paste programs for you novices out there; however, no matter how good that program is, sooner or later it will "mess up", and when that happens, it is almost impossible to fix it if you don't know what is wrong or why it is doing, or not doing, what you want it to do. If you do not know HTML it won't help to look at the source code for your page because, quite simply, you will not understand what you are looking at. You do not need to become a expert at HTML, you only need to have a working understanding of the language so you can find your way around a page full of source code. It is not that hard to learn...even I could to it!
Okay! Now back to all of those business people. If you do decide to attempt designing and building your own site, I always give the same recommendation, learn HTML.
Whether you are building a web site for your business or a personal web site, be prepared for that steep learning curve, and don't get discouraged if things do not go as you expect. Just keep at it until you get it the way that you want it to be. Also, you should find yourself a good HTML reference manual. My personal favorite is "HTML 4 Dummies" by IDG Books. It is fun, and easy, to read. Just do not let the name turn you off.
A word or two of caution for those of you attempting to build your own business web site. If your site is a for-profit business, you can not borrow "stuff" and use it in your web site without first asking for permission from the owner. Stealing another persons work and using it to make money for yourself is not only morally wrong, it is against the law. That is part of the reason the learning curve is so steep. You not only have to learn how to build the site, you need to learn how to create the graphics, javascripts, etc. that you need, or want to use. If you see something you may want to use, ask! Designers and/or programers do like to see their work being used on the internet (we're only a little vain), so are willing to give, or sell, you the right to use their work.
Well, my staff is telling me that I've said enough, and that I'm probably boring you, and of course I never argue with my staff. Sooooo, "Thank you for stopping by, and please do enjoy your time with us".
