The Met Office makes it easy to get general weather forecasts by fax covering the next five days. You can see details of many of the services that we provide by dialling the main index page on 09060 100 400. MetFAX can be accessed:

• by fax. Dial the appropriate number from the list below and press the START button after the fax tone. If you do not have a handset, follow the POLL RECEIVE instructions in your fax handbook.

• on your PC. For example, Windows 95 has inbuilt fax retrieval software that can be found in the ACCESSORIES/FAX program group. More information about accessing these services from your PC

Note that many companies have call barring for premium-rate numbers. If you have problems calling from work then please check with your telecommunications section first.
