We got going at 6:00 on this day of 25 mph trades going to the J buoy. On our first pass we had a mahi grab the center and come off. Scot then baited up one small mahi on light line. Then we went outside, at 25 miles we hooked up our spearfish, and got it. We found a small crate floating, but there was nobody home. We went back in to the II buoy. We caught some small shibi and ran them live. A shark was quick to come in and eat one, We brought it up and calmed it down and took pictures and let it go. In the harbor I was the only one to eat an eyeball. These guys did great handeling the rough water and all he rain we had today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of light winds going to the J buoy. Three miles from the J we took a marlin slam on the rigger, it came back and hit a second time but came off, bummer. At the J we had something make a move on the other rigger, but did not hookup. We baited but nothing came in . So we went to the X and Scot hooked up one mahi there, then we went out and down back to the J. We saw what looked like a marlin make a big boil right at the J. On our second pass a nice 20 poiund mahi grabbed the rigger and stuck, Gary got to reel that one in. Then we went down to the II buoy and there were small shibi and 3 hungry sharks there. The shibi are growing fast, they are now up to 2 pounds, big enough to run as live bait. We hooked the sharks up but they all cut the line. No eyeball eaters in this group. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:30 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to the x buoy. At the X we got some small shibi for bait then we go outside. At 25 miles we found a nice big log and took a double 10 pound shibi. We came back with bait and got 3 mahi on one pass, then they got smart. We jigged up 2 more shibi on light line and headed in. At 20 miles we took a triple marlin attack and one stayed on. Bob did a great job of reeling it in. Back in the harbor Bob liked mahi eyes so much he asked for seconds. These were seaworthy people, they handeled it all real well. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 6:30 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to the X buoy. We got some small shibi for bait at the X and then set up to troll and took a screaming marlin hit on the corner that took out 300 yards of line. We got Katsuhiro in the chair and he started to reel it in, but it came off the hook, bummer. We then found a small rope and started hooklng mahi on bait. We got 9 before they shut off. Back near the X we took another marlin hit that only slamed the rigger and came off. Back in the harbor Katsuhiro had no problem eating an eyeball from a mahi. These folks did real good. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:30 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to the J buoy. Nobody home at the J so we went to the X and then outside. At 22 miles we found a big rope floating and took a triple and got 2 mahi and lost a lure to an ono. We trolled for onos and got one nice big 30 pounder that Dodie got to reel in. We then went to bait and Scot baited up 12 more mahi. It was some wild action for awhile, as Scot baited up 5 on one pass. On the way in we went to the II buoy and caught some small baits and ran them live . Then a shark came around and we had to hook it up, reel it in and tag it. It went crazy and almost jumped in the boat. In the harbor Greg , Jimmy and Joshua all ate eyeballs gladly. It was a real fun day, these folks love to fish and did great all around. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of 15 winds going to the area above the X buoy. We found a small aku school and took a marlin strike that missed. Then we found a pair of floating balls and caught 2 mahi and lost one. We then went to a log that another boat had found and got our one ono there. Then down to the J buoy and then to an aku school where we got 2 aku. In the harbor I could only get Brian and Sean to join in the eyeball eating ritual. These guys did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to the J buoy. At the J we were not first so we went outside to 33 miles and found an aku school and got 2 out of 5 different hits. On the way back in we found a small net and got one mahi trolling and one on bait. Not very cooperative fish. Then just outside the J we found a nice log 10 feet long and 1 foot around and we got one trolling and Scot baited up our biggest one a 20 pounder that Nathanial got to reel in. Then on our second trolling pass by the J we took a hit that took some line out fast and then came off, bummer. In the harbor all the guys except Rick and Brent ate fish eyeballs gladly, I like it. These guys did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5;00 on this day of 20 mph trades going to the J buoy. At the J Scot baited up two mahi on the light line. Then we went out to 20 miles and then back to the J, no hits. We go up towards the X and back down to the II, all a big blank. So we go back up to the J and have two fish miss our lures, and  a mahi hits the rigger and takes some line and comes off. The area of the J looked real good but no more hits. In the harbor Steve, Mark, Jamie, and Gary consumed the ritual mahi eyeballs gladly. These guys did great with what we had. Aloha Capt Rusty

These were fun guys to fish with. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Chris Bies, Terry Vsiak, and Rob Halle caught 3 marlin190, 175, 90 and 22 mahi for a great day of fishing
We got a 5:00 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to the J buoy. At 2 miles to the buoy we took a double marlin and one stayed on and Chris did a good job reeling it in, it was a 90 pounder. At 1 mile to go we took another marlin hit and Terry got to reel it in, it was a 190 pounder. At the j we got 4 mahi and then went out to 20 miles and on the way in we took another marlin hit that stayed on and it was Rob's turn in the chair, in 30 minutes he had it to the boat, a nice 175 pounder. At the J we took a mahi hit and Chris reeled it in, a nice 39 pounder. On the way in we found a log and got 18 more mahi, as if we hadn;t had some fun already. In the harbor all of these guys did the eyeball thing gadly. One hell of a great day of fishing. Aloha Capt Rusty
