Perched above the beach on one hectare of sloping oceanfront property,
our accommodations overlook Georgia Strait and the Beaufort Mountain Range
on nearby Vancouver Island. The cedar decks adjoining each of our rooms
and suites offer a great spot to relax and enjoy the cooling ocean breezes
and the spectacular sunset views.

Whatever your favourite activities- fishing, birding, sailing, kayaking,
hiking, biking, swimming, diving and more- it's all within easy reach.
Texada abounds with many species of wildlife. A burgeoning deer population
makes for frequent sightings along the roadside and for a popular destination
for both wildlife viewing and deer
hunting when in season.

Texada, the largest island in Georgia Strait, is located between Vancouver
Island and the BC mainland, a short ferry ride from Powell River, on BC
's famed Sunshine Coast.
A Little off the Beaten Track
Texada's location makes it the perfect getaway
from the common tourist track. A thirty-five minute ferry ride from Powell
River, Texada is one of the most accessable places on BC's south coast
that can still boast the character that comes with being off the beaten
track.
Location and Amenities
From the Retreat it's an easy stroll down the beach to Shelter Point
Park where there are boat launching facilities, picnic sites and a concession
with covered seating serving a full menu. A groomed Nature Trail features
many ancient fir trees.
The nearby village of Gillies Bay offers facilities including a restaurant,
grocery store and other shops.
