Frugal Holiday Kitchen
Holidays mean lots of baking and cooking, and higher utility bills seem to be normal for the holidays, but don't let them get out of hand in the kitchen! Tips to keep it all under control.

Christmas at Frugal Living
Christmas is the biggest commercial holiday in the United States and many other places, but it's also the one holiday that stirs up memories and whispers "Home" and "Family" more than any other day of the year. Do it up right, and frugally, too.

International Buy Nothing Day
The day after Thanksgiving is the day Christmas begins... or so it seems. People pull out their credit cards and start buying, buying, buying, and retailers make the most of it. It's crazy out there! The fact is that this encourages buying excitement, a mob mentality, as it were - something to avoid if you're trying to live frugally.
International Buy Nothing Day puts teeth into that proposition. Join others worldwide in a refusal to go along on the materialistic band wagon. Buy NOTHING today!

Greedy Gas Company
Are businesses becoming harsher than they used to be? While there are always two sides to the coin, it would seem that they are. It seems that retail ethics are deteriorating, too. That's even more reason to pay close attention to how we spend our money.

Click to Donate
Do they or don't they? Campbell's Soup won't tell... even when it's their product? The on again, off again "click to donate" cans of soup project (since the year 2000) has some dents in it's exterior, according to Snopes anyway.
Urban Legends Guide says it's for real, but for a limited amount of time, so click away. When you're through there, click to donate food for the needy and help for the homeless through several different places. It's a quick and easy way to help others.
Don't wait until Christmas to do this! Most of them allow one click per day, with the advertisers donating the money. It's worth a few minutes each day... all year long. (Pssst... tell those forum members about this page... they're discussing the free soup there right now.

Frugal Food Gifts
What are the holidays without food?? Lots of it and good stuff, too! One of the most favorite gifts this time of year, whether it's for Christmas, housewarming or just a thank you gift, is food.
Buying it from a food gift catalog isn't necessary, though. You can make your own and present it with just as much - if not more - class. Home made is special!

Saving on Liquid Soap
I'll concede that they are more convenient. I'll even concede that they are easier to clean up after (unless the dispenser doesn't work right). BUT - they're still more expensive than they have to be. Even the cost of bargain, on sale with a coupon or the no-name-dusty-shelf liquid hand soap can be cut.
And they're talking Shower Gel (on the forum)

It's Pumpkin Time!
Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without pumpkin pie, but you can also make sweet snacks, salty snacks, bread, cookies... how many things can be made with pumpkin, anyway?? More than I even knew... just don't forget the pie!
