Duration: 5 days / 4 nights
Day 1: Morning, we pick up from your hotel
or bus station in Mae Sot. Drive for 170 kms by pick up truck to
Umphang on a very scenic road. Visit en route the Phajaroen
Waterfall and a village of the Meo hill tribe. Arrive at the
Umphang Hill Resort for lunch and check in. The resort is located
on the bank of the Mae Klong River. In the afternoon, we make an
exploration into a cave nearby the resort. Dinner and stay
overnight in the cozy wooden bungalows (private bathroom) of the
Umphang Hill Resort.
Day 2: After breakfast, we depart for a spectacular ride
on a bamboo raft over the Mae Klong River. Enjoy the dense jungle
of Umphang on the way to the Thasai Cave. Observe many colorful
brids and hopefully some Gibbons (monkeys) and other extensive
flora and fauna. We stop ant the Tilorchor Waterfall, hot springs
and pass the exciting Takui Rapids. Picnic lunch. In the
afternoon, we arrive at the Thasai Cave, where we get off the raft
and prepare a tent camp in the entrance of cave. Dinner at the
campfire and stay overnight in the tent.
Day 3: Awake from the sound of the jungle. Breakfast and
depart for a long trek to the famous Tilorzu Waterfall, the
largest in South East Asia. Declared by the Wildlife Fund as
"World Heritage". After lunch at the foresty camp near
the waterfalls you can take a refreshing swim in the lower basin
of the waterfall. Dinner and stay overnight in the foresty camp.
Day 4: We wake you up in the early morning before
sunrising and walk to the viewpoint. From here, you have an
astonishing view of the extensive casedaes. Back to the camp for
breakfast, afterward we start walking to a Kotha Karen Village.
Arrive at the village and rest a rest before we continue a ride of
four hours by elephant to Palata Karen Village. Elephants are the
true kings of the jungle. Experience yourself the majesty of
traveling through jungle trails on elephant's back. Dinner and
stay overnight in the village.
Day 5: Early wake up and we go by pick up truck to see
one of the attractions of Umphang. From the mountain, top Doi
Huamod you can see the fading clouds hanging over the jungle.
Return for breakfast and explore the hill tribe village. After
lunch, we depart for Mae Sot with en route stop at various hill
tribe villages and visit a small silverware factory of the Hmong
hill tribe. Upon arrival in Mae Sot we visit the bustling market
near the Burmeses border. In the afternoon, we transfer you to the
airport or bus station or your hotel in Mae Sot.

Notes:
If you travel by airplane to Mae Sot from Bangkok, Chiang Mai or
Phitsanuloke you need to stay one extra night (not included) in
Mae Sot and you will start the Umphang Trekking in the next day.
We advise the guest to bring some walking shoes, which can get
wet, flashlight, slippers, mosquito repellent, copies of the
passport, a small bag pack. Every participant must carry his/her
own bag pack.
This trekking is for everybody in a good healthy physical
condition. If necessary, consult a Physician.
Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary,
depending on weather, road conditions, and accommodation
availability.
