EBSQ Plus:
What it is and how to apply
In August 2001, we introduced the idea of EBSQ+, a showcase of artwork
starting at $100 and up, bringing the best works available to our collectors
via a new eBay search tool, and hopefully bringing a living wage to our artists.
We decided to jury this category so we could provide more structure
and support for our artists, and a guarantee of dedication and excellence
from our artists for our collectors. Unlike many juried arts organizations
in the United States and elsewhere, we do not require our artists to
jump through hoops providing an MFA, resumes, exhibition history, previous
art grants, or sales records. We feel this gives an
incomplete picture of an artist, and closes doors on many emerging artists
of great promise and talent. Rather, artists will be juried in SOLELY
on the quality of their art and a brief statement about their work.
Screening takes place quarterly. Interested artists must be a member
of EBSQ in good standing, and using all required logos in their auctions.
The next screening takes place 15 December 2003 and is open to all media.
