ST JAMES SAM

Sam is a most beautiful fox hound. He came to St. James in late summer and has been wandering from home to home to golf course to neighborhood ever since. All residents have seen him at one time or another. He is friendly but standoffish and you have to try several times to make friends with him before he will let you pet him. It does seem though that he is becoming more relaxed and will let strangers approach and pet him on occasion. He actually has a nice life right on the property of St. James but his human friends here, and he has many, know that this nomadic life, in the long run, is not good for him. He runs the risk of being hit by a car, encountering an alligator or other wild animal, meeting a non-dog-loving humanoid (unbelievably, there are some) and a myriad of other threats.

A group of people at St. James met to decide how best to help Sam. It was decided to catch him (not real easy) and take him to the vet to get his shots, tested for worms, and all other recommended treatment. They are also advertising to find him a permanent home and, to that end, have asked SOAR for their assistance.

Sam, although he looks like a hunting dog, is not. He shows no interest in deer, rabbits, foxes, or any other wildlife. His St. James friends feel that he needs a house to stay in and a lap to lay in. He also needs a fenced-in yard.

If you would be interested in giving Sam the home he deserves please call Jack on 253-1654.
