TOUR ITINERARY

Continue to Nakhon Pathom with a short stop at Thailand's largest chedi, Phra Pathom Chedi. Arrival and check in at Rose Garden Resort at noon. The afternoon is at leisure: Relax at the ozone-filtered, chlorine free swimming pool, take a stroll through the extensive park, the herbal garden or a Thai village, where various crafts, such as cloth weaving, pottery making and silk painting are demonstrated. The daily cultural show at Rose Garden is another option highly recommended (Tickets for the show cost 380.- Baht per person if paid on spot, or 300,- Baht per person if pre-booked). Overnight stay is at Rose Garden Aprime Resort.

Day 2 (Wednesday): Rose Garden - Kanchanaburi (B)
Breakfast served at the hotel. Depart for Kanchanaburi. Visit the JEATH Museum and famous Bridge over the River Kwai and board the local train for the exciting ride on the Death Railway. Transfer to your hotel located on the Kwai River. The afternoon is at leisure. Suggested activities (not included in our tour price): Mountain biking, canoeing on the Kwai River, traditional Thai massage, elephant riding. Overnight accommodation is at River Kwai Village Hotel.

* Optional program: Night Safari (16:00-22:00)
Transfer to an elephant camp. Take a bath with the elephants in the river, give them a good scrub under the close supervision of their mahouts. By doing so, you will become closer to elephants and more familiar with them before having them as your company throughout the course of the night safari along the river bank. Enjoy a picnic BBQ dinner on the riverbanks, followed by a nocturnal ride through the jungle on the back of an elephant. For many, this excursion becomes a cherished memory. Transfer back to the hotel.

Price per person inclusive transfers and dinner (minimum 2 persons): US$ 80.-

Day 3 (Thursday): Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya (B-L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by coach via Suphanburi to the former capital city of Siam, Ayutthaya, located approximately 80 kilometers to the north of Bangkok, the ancient city of Ayutthaya is known as the "Venice of the East" due to the fact that it lies along the Chao Phraya River, the tributaries of which surround Ayutthaya province. The glory of the Ayutthaya Empire (1350-1767A.D.) is evident in the remains of temples such as Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Chai Wattanaram, which we will visit in the afternoon. A further visit includes Wat Yai Chai Mongkol. This well-tended temple was founded by King U-Thong in 1357 as a center for monks returning from study in Sri Lanka. The white reclining Buddha near the entrance was built by King Naresuan. The massive pagoda was also built by King Naresuan to celebrate his defeat of the Burmese at Suphanburi in 1593 by killing their crown prince in a single-handed combat on elephants. Overnight accommodation is at Krungsri River Hotel.

Day 4 (Friday): Ayutthaya - Bang Pa In - Bangkok (B)
This day we offer an optional early-hours tour at 06:00AM to visit the morning market to buy fresh food, which you will then donate to the monks, who are making their rounds to receive alms from the local people. It is the traditional practice for Thai Buddhists which is a meaningful experience for foreigners. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Then, a 40-minute boat trip on the Chao Phraya River brings you to Bang Pa In, followed by a visit of the Royal Summer Palace.
