The
Nursing Center is part of J. Arthur Dosher Memorial Hospital and is located on
site with full-time access to emergency, diagnostic, laboratory, and
surgical care.
Care Plan Team
Each resident has a Care Plan Team to ensure that all services work
interdependently. With a nursing ratio or one Certified Nursing Assistant
to every eight residents, the nursing team will provide necessary medical
care while the team of therapists work on an individualized treatment plan
according to each resident's needs.
Social Services
Our Social Worker will assist you and your family with admission,
develop your Care Plan to address psycho-social needs, provide
transitional counseling to help you adjust to your new lifestyle and home,
provide non-medical aspects of your care, and be the "resident
advocate" should a concern or problem arise.
Skilled Nursing
We offer 24-hour nursing coverage in our Nursing Center and meet all
state quality indicators. Our nursing staff will administer medications,
check your blood pressure and glucose, and assist with mealtimes,
mobility, and hygiene.
Speech Therapy
Our Speech Therapist will assist residents who have speech, language,
voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Proper eating is essential in
maintaining wellness, and good communication skills help maintain social
stimulation and interaction. The therapist will help you build listening
and understanding skills, verbal expression, orientation and memory
skills, reasoning and problem-solving skills, swallowing, voice quality,
and help with alternative communication needs, if necessary.
Recreation Therapy
Our Recreation Therapy department provides a variety of activities,
including exercise, creative movement, music, arts and crafts,
religions services, horticulture, pet therapy, reminiscence, outings and
socials, Bingo and other games.
Physical Therapy
To ensure as much independence as possible, our Physical Therapist
will help you rebuild strength and mobility and restore balance. Bed
mobility, transfer training, gait training, wheelchair management, and
walking with assistive devices may be included in your therapy. Modalities
such as heat, cold, water, and electric stimulation will be provided as
needed. Some of the benefits of Physical Therapy include improved
circulation, restored motion, relief of pain, strengthened muscles, and
improved function.
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapist will help you achieve your maximum
independence by rebuilding fine motor skills so you can perform Activities
of Daily Living (ADL's) with limited assistance. The therapist will
address visual, perceptive, and cognitive skills by teaching you skills in
judgment, motor planning, problem-solving, spatial orientation, and
sensori-motor integration. Instruction and assistance will also be
provided for self-care tasks such as eating, grooming, hygiene, bathing,
and dressing. Adaptive equipment may be recommended to enhance your
functional independence.
