This area of the Maputaland coast is almost untouched and seldom dived. It is renowned for it’s beautiful coral and deserted beaches.
Rocktail Bay lodge is the only luxury coastal lodge in the area and is situated in a secluded bay in the far North-Eastern corner of South Africa. The lodge caters for only a small number of guests and you are assured of exclusivity.
Your trip is full catered and you are looked after from start to finish by our team of diver-guides and assistants. bottlenose dolphins are often seen

The reefs off Island Rock / Rocktail Bay are seldom commercially scuba dived. There are numerous pristine reefs; two known ones are Illusive and M’bibi.
The scuba diving occurs on world-class dive sites, with the possibility of seeing shoals of game fish and sharks. The coral reefs are pristine, and divers’ buoyancy will be strictly controlled to avoid the possibility of reef damage.
The launch site is at Island Rock, 12 km south of Rocktail Bay
Lodge.
Traveling time is approx 3.5 hrs from Durban.
