A tisket, a tasket, 4 kittens in a basket!  We four adorable babies were found under the bridge at Holden Beach.  Now how did we get there? more
And more new kittens
We are very proud to introduce our membership! These people and organizations, through their donations, support the animals and our efforts to provide for them. Without these members SOAR could not exist. Won't you consider joining their ranks?

Two wonderful people, Grace and Joseph, the owners/proprietors of 'The Lazy Barracuda', recently helped SOAR in a great time of need.  They agreed to take a dog, Moko,  that had to be rescued and for which SOAR had 'no room in the inn'.  And for this SOAR will always be grateful.  The Lazy Barracuda is an antique shop on the corner of Front and Castle in Wilmington.   Please stop in there to meet Grace and Joseph, to say thanks, to browse, to do some Christmas shopping, and, last but certainly not least, to meet Moko.

As you can see by the 'Donate' button to the right you can now make online donations to SOAR. The process is secure so don't be shy, go ahead, make a donation!

Plea for Whispy

Whispy is a most wonderful, adorable, loving, playful, happy dog. But, he has bad hips that make it hard for him to walk. He needs at least one hip replacement - maybe even both. Currently SOAR doesn't have enough money ($3,200) to pay for the surgery(s). Without surgery he will be in a lot of pain and will likely develop severe arthritis. The surgeries cannot be performed until he is 1-year-old (he is 9-months-old now) so that gives us some time to try to find an angel who will adopt him and/or pay for his surgery. Please consider helping and if you send a check for him be sure to write his name in the memo area.
