Management Team
David Sovereen - CEO & President
David founded Mercury Network in March of 1996 with the firm
desire to deliver high quality Internet services to the mid-Michigan
area. Under his vision and leadership, Mercury Network has
grown from a basement project to a multi-million dollar company,
delivering services to nearly every continent. David sets
company direction and policy, as well as oversees the company's
engineering operations. Prior to starting Mercury Network,
David worked for Hearst Corporation, where he built and launched
two Internet Service Providers, one of which he operated on
a daily basis. In his spare time, David enjoys the outdoors
and traveling.
Pat Benner - General Manager
Patricia joined Mercury Network in 2002 bringing with her
15 years of Accounting and Management experience. She earned
a B.A. from Northwood University in 1986 and enjoyed working
in many different capacities with businesses in the retailing,
banking, and manufacturing industries before joining Mercury
Network. She enjoys the new challenges of working in a high-tech
company and her quick wit and even temperament keeps the Accounting
Department running smoothly! Pat lives in Bay City with her
husband and daughter and enjoys spending her spare time with
family and friends.
Amanda Charles - Customer Service Supervisor
Amanda Charles started with Mercury Network in the summer
of 2000 as a Technical Support Representative. She remained
a crucial part of the technical support team until April of
2001, when she was asked to help organize and develop a Customer
Service Department. After working as a Customer Service Representative
for a little over a year, she was promoted to Customer Service
Supervisor. With Amanda's calm demeanor and constant optimism,
she is able to supervise the department effectively. Outside
of Mercury Network, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband,
Jeremy, and daughter, Jordyn.
John Holmberg - Technical Support Supervisor
John started with Mercury Network in 1999 as a Technical Support
Representative. Over the years, John has been promoted several
times: first, from Level 1 Technician to Level 2 Technician,
next to Technical Support Trainer, and a year ago, to Technical
Support Department Supervisor. John is in school pursuing
a Degree in Computer Science, and Cisco CCNA certification.
"I have grown and matured along with Mercury Network
and am happy to be a factor in this business's growth,"
says John. "I enjoy the industry and have especially
enjoyed the last three years with Mercury Network. I have
seen the progress that we have made since my early employment
and hope to be around to see where we end up several years
down the road."
David Jamieson - Lead Network Operations Technician
Jamieson has been with Mercury Network since 1998. Starting
out in Technical Support, he learned the basics of the Internet
and how to make it work on a PC. As Mercury grew, Jamieson
was trained in the backend side of the Mercury Network business,
learning how to configure routers, servers, and a variety
of Internet appliances. Jamieson is now Mercury Network's
Lead Network Operations Technician, commanding the maintenance
and repair of all network equipment.
Brian Reeves - Lead Web Developer
Brian began his employment with Mercury Network in January
of 2002. His strong graphical skills and creative ideas soon
developed a new and fresh identity for Mercury Network. Having
been completely self-taught, Brian is free from the "cookie
cutter" academic structures of graphics and web design.
Since joining Mercury, Brian has further strengthened his
skills in server-side coding and customer relations. Brian
is now head of all graphical and web programming work, helping
in areas of advertising and customer projects as well as the
development of Mercury Network sites.
