Wheelchair Facilities for Anglers with Disabilities - Coarse Fishing
Venues
The Shannon Regional Fisheries Board has developed a number of
wheelchair friendly venues around the region, often in association
with local development groups. Custom built facilities conform with the construction guidelines and criteria as set
out by the National Rehabilitation Board of Ireland. Other
venues maybe close to a public road or fishing maybe possible off
concrete or timber stands where access is very easy. The latter may
lack safety features such as safety barriers but
are otherwise suitable and are therefore listed - see menus on the
right hand column where we segregate the two types of facility to
enable you to make your own choice, considering your safety. For
instance the Grand and Royal Canals have public access roads running
along most of the canal banks where fishing is possible immediately
alongside the road. We would like to assist you
in any way we can, we invite your feedback regarding any special needs
requirements in the construction of wheelchair friendly facilities -
