Wood shafting is often overlooked these days in favor of man made materials because of the increasing difficulty and rising costs in obtaining nicely matched sets of shafts for constant performing arrows. Alternative woods are more and more popular and offer good options these days.
We are pleased to offer you Silverwood barreled shafting. I received several dozen samples to make arrows for testing. Each of the sample dozens were matched closer than any wooden shafting I've EVER had from ANYWHERE, bar none - spines
and weights within less than 5 pounds and 5 grains total spread.
While this wood averages a little heavier than cedar, the barreling seems to maximize efficiency and the test arrows hit the same aim points as lighter cedars. (Click here for performance impressions and technical dynamics of barreled shafting)
This species, indigenous to Australia, has a grain structure similar to
Ramin, but is much finer like birch and straighter than either. They come VERY straight, straighten easily and take a nice finish. The nock ends come tapered, and they accept 11/32" points at usual cut lengths, but might require 5/16" for longer cuts or 23/64" points for shorter cut arrows.
The spine and weight are marked on the sides of the individual shafts - easily sanded off prior to finishing.
Sets are sold in dozen lots and are vacuum packed for protection.
** Two thumbs up from all of our test shooters!
I guarantee absolute satisfaction with this product and predict wide acceptance of it.
