Team Youth Volunteer Opportunities

The March of Dimes believes that the future of volunteerism and service to our communities depends on the development and involvement of our nation's young people. Team Youth gives young people an opportunity to make a difference…and have fun while they do it!
National Youth Council The March of Dimes National Youth Council is made up of 19 college-age volunteers who are selected, through a highly competitive screening process, as some of the most talented student leaders in the country.
Many of the members were involved in Chain Reaction during high school. Others became involved with the March of Dimes through Collegiate Councils or through other relationships the March of Dimes has with national and international youth clubs and organizations. The members are extremely knowledgeable and well-trained resources for chapters and divisions looking to start and/or maintain successful youth programs.
In addition to their many tasks, the National Youth Council also plans and executes a National Youth Leadership Conference, held every two years.
Collegiate Council A Collegiate Council is a chapter program that provides young people with a meaningful learning experience, while building a volunteer force that will help lead the March of Dimes into the future. The Collegiate Council was conceived on the premise that college students across the United States care about the health of babies.
It is intended that Collegiate Councils will expand to campuses across the United States, educating the next generation of parents and individuals of childbearing age (18-44 years) about the mission of the March of Dimes and boosting youth education and advocacy.
Chain Reaction The Chain Reaction Youth Leadership Program of the March of Dimes provides young people with meaningful learning experiences while building the volunteer force that will help the March of Dimes in the successful fight to save babies and lead the foundation into the future.
National Youth Month Young people involved in Team Youth, conducted health events and activities in their local communities throughout October and November to encourage their peers to commit to living healthy lifestyles and to helping the March of Dimes save babies by volunteering.
America's Promise: The Alliance for Youth The March of Dimes is built on the concept of volunteerism and applauds the efforts of America's Promise: The Alliance for Youth to strengthen our national commitment to community service. We embrace the Alliance's mission of ensuring that all of our youth have access to five fundamental resources to help them lead healthy, fulfilling and productive lives that include service to others.
We, too, believe that the future of volunteerism and service to our communities depends on the development and involvement of our nation's young.
National Youth Service Day 2003 The March of Dimes joined over 40 other national agencies as a partner in Youth Service America’s National Youth Service Day April 11-13, 2003.
The three objectives of National Youth Service Day are:
- To engage young Americans in solving our most difficult problems.
- To teach communities to view young people as resources rather than problems.
- To recognize the ongoing service efforts of young people nationwide.
National Youth Service Day is a fantastic opportunity for youth volunteers to be recognized for their community service efforts!
