Weeds

Kim Haworth is in the garden with Henry on a rainy day. Weeds pull best when the soil is damp. Tough roots slip easily from the soil when you pull them by hand. For larger areas, weeding tools will be needed.

A hula hoe is a good choice to remove weeds from large open areas. Use a circle hoe when you are working in close quarters and between plants. A conventional hoe should be used for deep rooted weeds and a weed knife is handy to have for small weeding jobs. Henry loves Clint's Dandy Digger (www.clintsdandydigger.com).
