LOANS TO EXHIBITIONS The National Trust lends pictures, furniture and many other items from its collections regularly, so that objects can be seen in well-chosen contexts and so that more people, in different places and circumstances, can see and enjoy them. Loans take place primarily during the Winter season when National Trust properties are closed for the annual cleaning and maintenance programme. Lists of items loaned to exhibitions in the United Kingdom and internationally can be seen by clicking on the links below. Please note that many exhibitions run from one year to the next - they are listed just once under the year in which they first appear. At any time there are many exhibition loans pending, which will be listed when they are formally agreed. The information given is as accurate as possible, but please check with exhibition venues regarding dates of exhibitions and other details, which are the responsibility of the venue. Any object owned by the Trust is only loaned for exhibition if it is in a fit condition to be lent. Conservation work may be required before the loan takes place. Travelling cases are specially made to protect objects in transit and works are accompanied by couriers to ensure their safety at all times. Special packing methods are employed for further protection inside each case. All exhibition loans are subject to change in accordance with the National Trust Conditions of Loan.
