U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)

USAID contracts provide for infrastructure, health, education, capacity building and other developmental reconstruction activities. Companies interested in providing technical or administrative services to USAID for or in the Persian Gulf can fill out a form on-line. Click on "Awards" for links to the websites of companies who have been chosen as prime contractors.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has responsibility for contracting related to Iraqi oil sector repairs and continuity of operations. Companies and individuals may register their interest on-line with the U.S. Department of Defense's Army Corps of Engineers (ACE).

Highlights
A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conference on "Restore Iraqi Oil" was held on July 14, 2003 in Dallas, Texas.

Business Guide for Iraq: This Business Guide is designed to provide U.S. companies with the most up-to-date information about prospective commercial conditions and opportunities in Iraq. To keep pace with fast-changing conditions, the Guide will be updated frequently.

Bechtel National, Inc. hosted contractor-supplier conferences during May to inform the worldwide contracting community of its role in USAID's Iraq Infrastructure Reconstruction Program. For information on these conferences, visit Bechtel's site.

A U.S. Government interagency team (State/AID/Commerce/DOD) briefed U.S. business and coalition partners on the Iraq reconstruction contract process at separate meetings chaired by the Department of Commerce on April 10 and by the State Department on April 11.
