Las Vegas, Instead of offering travelers distinct cultural experiences broken into geographic regions as in some large cities. On the Strip you will find the "classic" Las Vegas hotels like The Mirage,Caesars Palace, Circus Circus, the Flamingo Hilton and the rest of them that help define Las Vegas as the entertainment capital of the world. Hotel rooms on the Strip are the most expensive, but you still find some bargains. A couple of years ago I stayed at Circus Circus for $29 a night, and Excalibur has offered similarly low rates. I found Circus Circus hard to navigate at first and a bit drab, but the rooms are comparable to what you would find across the street at the more expensive Riviera or down the road a bit at the Flamingo. if you compare, a similar room at the Flamingo was $90 a night. For Convention, you will have to find the hotel with convention hall. Las Vegas Hilton is on the strip with Convention hall. The Convention Centre is five-to ten-minute cab ride from the strip. Now a Days New Hotels in las vegas has trend to have hotel - casino with world class shopping and dining. Paris, the Bellagio and the Venetian fall into this category ( New Hotels). Casino mogul Steve Wynn, is trying to create a sense of culture. It has has million dollars paintings of classic artwork of painters as Cezanne, Picasso, Monet and Van Gogh in his Bellagio's art museum. Parents of small children has to take a note: No children are allowed inside. A museum employee told me kids were allowed earliar but Wynn caught one tot tearing through his treasure trove and he banned all of them. Now there is one day a week, for a couple of hours a day, that children are allowed inside. Call ahead to make plans. In $5.99 all-you-can-eat buffets are still around, but hotel-casinos also offer's some wonderful dining. The World-class chef Emeril Lagasse can be found in the Venetian's Delmonico (where diners one night were treated to nude table dances with whipped cream and other condiments by a bevy of Robin Leach's young lady friends), and Emeril's inside the MGM. The Bellagio's restaurants also are wonderful. The downtown is also good and cab be used as an alternative for the strip. Hotel Rooms are cheaper and the casinos are really nearby and make easy to choose from many. In comparison to the strip the where the walk from Caesars to Treasure Island next door is enough to wear you out, the casinos are very closer. The gambling is also better for blackjack players. The Casinos at the strip use six-deck chutes that makes cardcounting an impossibel, and minimum bet is also not les than $10. The Casinos at the down town offer minimum $1 and $2 and many tables forgo the chutes in favor of single or double-deck blackjack that offer players more favorable odds. In downtown casinos, the Golden Nudget is the Best One , after comes the remodeled Main Street Station and Binion's Horseshoe, where each year the winner of the World Series is awarded at least a million dollar. The Casinos at the off-strip are not so good, few good ones are Sam's Town, the Rio, the Fiesta, the Santa Fe, Jerry's Nugget, the Reserve and the new Resort at the Summerlin. In Summerlin has exquisite rooms with range from $300 to $500. It has 40,000 Square foot spa, rellay good restaurants and feel of 50,000 Square foot casino and slot machines. The four best golf courses are also nearby and it also offers a grand view of strip at the night. You can find lower room rates at Loacals casino and rooms vary little from the resort rooms at the Hotels on the strip. Gambling is very good at these casinos. Crap tables abd Blackjack offer the most favorable rules and odds, and even slots seems to pay much better than hotels ate the strip. Only thing which you lack at these off strip hotels is remoteness and good dining and shopping. All the Hotels at the Strip has good shows. The best entertainment in the town is by Impressionist Danny Gans at the Rio.The off-strip hotels offers restaurants but not comparable to the dining on the strip or even downtown. For Budget conscious traveler looking for bets gambling should stay at one of these off-strip hotels and can take cab or bus or rent a car to see the strip. For an unprepared visitor Las Vegas can be overwhelming sensory overload. To get most of your visit make a balance of sensible gambling with some shows and good food.
