Island (Long Beach) combined with Caswell Beach form an

Boiling
Spring Lakes - Named for a natural spring, its 16,000
acres of land was incorporated in 1961. The Big Lake, 150-acres
or 2 1/2 miles long with 10 miles of shoreline is one of over
50 natural and man-made lakes in the city. Several of the
lakes offer public access for swimming, fishing, and water-skiing.
