State Department Wins 2003 Softball Championship

On Saturday August 9th, the State Department softball team won the Bush/Cheney softball tournament to become 2003 League Champions.

Entering the playoff with a season record of 9 wins and 5 losses, State was seeded eighth in a field of eleven teams. Overcoming a challenging schedule, State won four games on Saturday beating teams from the Commerce Department, the # 2 seeded Justice Department, the # 5 seeded Labor Department, and, in the final game, beat the # 3 seeded EPA 14 -7 to win the championship.
