Since the end of Taliban rule, the number of Afghan kids enrolled in schools has tripled to almost 3 million. Over 70% of the 7,000 school buildings in this country the size of Texas have been damaged or destroyed. On average, between $15,000 to $38,000 is needed to rebuild a school, depending on its size and location. The organizations listed below are currently working in Afghanistan to construct school buildings and provide supplies and training.
