The Village of Bald Head Island is accepting applications for the
following full-time positions:
Chief of Police - Full Time
Starting Salary - DOQ; Salary Range: $45,648-$63,907. The Village
seeks a progressive community-oriented leader experienced in all
aspects of professional policing with a minimum of ten (10) years
experience in law enforcement including at least five (5) years
in a supervisory capacity. Candidates must have a proven commitment
to community-oriented policing, a demonstrated track record of quality
service delivery and the commitment and capacity to forge and maintain
effective relationships with the community, elected officials, employees,
and other law enforcement agencies. Successful candidates will have
exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and will be dedicated
to positive interaction with citizenry and visitors and an interactive
program of staff development. The Chief is appointed by and reports
to the Village Manager.
Graduation with an Associates degree in law enforcement related
field is required or equivalent amount of education, training and
experience. Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration
or related field preferred. All N.C. Justice Training and Standards
Commission requirements must be met. Applicant must satisfactorily
complete a pre-employment drug screen and psychological evaluation.

Police Officer - Full Time
The Village of Bald Head Island is seeking qualified candidates
for the full-time position of Police Officer. Applicants must have
completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and be North
Carolina Law Enforcement certified. Basic EMT certification is preferred.
Applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills and be
willing to perform bicycle patrol duties. Salary commensurate with
qualifications and experience. The Village offers an excellent benefit

Paramedic certification is required with one to two years of experience
preferred. Firefighter certification is preferred. Starting salary
