At
a few steps and only two minutes from the famous Piazza Campo de Fiori,
in the heart of Romes most central district, there is the holiday house
Giubbonari, capable of accommodating from 2 to 4 persons for short stays. The
windows of the apartment open out on to one of the most characteristic pedestrian
squares of central Rome: the ever present Romanic church and a little open air
café, make Largo dei Librari a genuine corner of roman life. The apartment
is placed on the first floor of an 18th century building, just beside the church
of Santa Barbara dei Librai of the 11th century. The two rooms apartment is about
50 square meters and was restored in November 2002. At the entrance, a small area
connects the two rooms of the house: the night zone consisting of a double bed-room
full of light and the day zone that also opens out on to Largo dei Librari. The
living room is furnished with a table for four persons, a large bookcase that
surrounds the entrance door, a TV zone and a comfortable double sofa bed. The
large window renders the room very light and airy. The kitchen is well equipped,
and beside the common appliances there is also the washing machine available.
The bedroom has a double bed and a large wardrobe. All the furnishings
the curtains, bedspread, headboard and pictures are simple and in good
taste. The house is equipped with electric heating system and fans for the summer;
the thick walls, a characteristic of the ancient buildings, enable indoor temperatures
to be comfortable and pleasant throughout winter and summer. The bathroom, entirely
renewed in November 2002, with its elegant features also offers the use of a full-length
bath.
