I HAVE NEVER BEEN DEEP SEA FISHING BEFORE, IS THAT A PROBLEM? Not at all, we coach until all anglers attain a good deep-sea fishing technique.

WHAT IS THE COST AND WHAT IS SUPPLIED? The 5 hour deep-sea reef and game trip is $80 for adults and $50 for children under 13 and sightseers. Inclusions are - Coastal resort transits from Biggera Waters to Burleigh Heads, quality Penn rods and reels, bait, tackle lures, sunscreen, soft drinks, iced water and printed recipes. Just bring your camera. Your kept fish are gutted, iced down and bagged for you.

DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES? Yes, our gift certificates have no expiry date, are transferable and include postage, these “Frequently Asked Questions” and colour brochures. We post them to your supplied address within one working day of receipt of your payment. A personal note can be included at your request, the holder then books at their convenience (our contact details are included with each certificate) or you can pre book as well.

DO WE FISH IN ROUGH/UNSAFE WEATHER? No, we postpone to a suitable day.

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM NUMBERS REQUIRED TO BOOK? – We build the party to a maximum of 12 persons (Ie, singles, twos, threes etc are no problem.)

WHAT IS THE COST TO HIRE THE WHOLE BOAT for a half day? $900au for the whole boat, for your group only, deep sea, estuary/Broadwater or both, with a skipper (Capt'n Bob) and a deckhand, for a half day of 5 hours, 12 guests is the maximum.

DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT? Only for “whole boat charters” Please make a cheque or post office money order payment to BK's Fishing Charters and post to PO Box 454, Harbour Town, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, 4216. On receipt, we will confirm your “whole boat” booking.

FISH AND WEATHER GUIDE? We do fish all year round, on rocky reefs ranging from 20 to 60 meters deep, from 1 to 25 kilometers from shore, for Snapper, Cobia, Sharks, Mackerel, Tuna, Sailfish, Marlin and many other rocky reef fish. Our fishing techniques include simultaneous, bottom bouncing, multi level, float, live, strip, cube, spin and also trolling when it’s more productive. If unfamiliar, with those terms, don't let that “fish speak” worry you, we gladly assist/coach as required. Autumn, Winter and Spring has comfortable mild weather, approximately 20 degrees centigrade - day temperature. Summer, has typical tropical weather, often with cooling afternoon sea breezes giving approximately 30 degrees centigrade day temp. Summer has the advantage of more surface fish such as Marlin and Spotted Mackerel.

HOW LONG IS THE BOAT DRIVING TIME? Approximately 15 minutes, you are  fishing in the ocean within 20 minutes.

WHICH DAY DO I BOOK? We recommend that you book your trip at the start of your holiday / stay so that we can postpone in case of unsuitable weather.

DO WE DO FULL DAY TRIPS? No, due to the fact that the catch rate is better in the morning and the weather is often too rough in the afternoon.

TO DRIVE YOURSELF TO THE BOAT DEPARTURE POINT, at the "Labrador  Harley Park Pontoon” at 329 Marine Parade, Labrador, which is opposite the Deepwater Point Apartments at 328 Marine Parade, Labrador. If driving from Brisbane, turn left at Exit 62/the South Helensvale exit/Brisbane Road, after the theme park "Wet and Wild", continue for approximately 10 kilometers on Exit 62 until you see the calm water/river/ Broadwater, then turn right/south/towards Surfers Paradise on Marine Parade, drive 300 meters ONLY, along the water and you are there, I.e., At the "Labrador - Harley Park Pontoon” - 329 Marine Parade, Labrador, If driving from Surfers Paradise, head north on the main road/Gold Coast Highway approximately 5 kilometers/aprox 10 minutes to the Grand Hotel at Labrador, then turn right, drive 100 meters ONLY and you are there.
