Parts of northern Australia have saw some very wet weather on Sunday and Monday. Among the wetter places was Daly Waters where 79mm rain fell in 6 hours between 0600 GMT and 1200 GMT on Monday. The average February rainfall here is 152mm.

Tropical Cyclone Elita has been affecting the area between Mozambique and Madagascar recently and has dumped 196mm rain on Ile Juan de Nova in the 30 hours between 0600 GMT Sunday and 1200 GMT Monday. The average February rainfall on this island is 402mm.
