Brian White MP (MK) had hoped to attend, but had to leave before the formal business began, as a Vote in the House was unexpectedly brought forward. He left messages of support and stressed the importance of leaving a good legacy for future generations.

Patrick Hall MP (Bedford) was present and also came to the satellite event in Bedford with Bedford's Mayor. The launch was chaired by MK councillor Graham Mabbutt on behalf of the Partnership Board, who emphasised the positive contribution the Waterway will make to local communities all along the chosen route.
