| Our new day lodge is home to games,
activities, and kayak trips... or just plain relaxing!
This new facility is located on the nearby Sittee
River, just a 10 minute bike ride from the Jaguar Reef
Lodge. The Sittee is one of the largest rivers in
Belize and drains the Maya Mountain Range
to the West of us.
This new facility is an ideal spot to relax with
a cool drink while swinging in a hammock, or to get
out and do some kayaking or fishing. The main floor has
a licenced bar, tables and hammocks. The second
story provides more hammocks as well as great views
of the river and surrounding area. |

The Iguana Lodge is an ideal
location from which to launch a kayak expedition
either on your own or with one of our licensed
guides. Select your route and take along with you
one of our maps of the river. Up river you will
find miles of pristine river as well as the
small village of Sittee River which is built
along the river's banks. Down river you will have
the opportunity see even more pristine river as
well as Anderson lagoon and the river's mouth
which is rich in bird life.

Iguanas are often sighted here
sunning themselves in the tree tops. Other common
animal sightings include manatees, crocodiles,
turtles, parrots, parakeets, toucan, etc.
A bathroom facility is located on the property.
Kayaks and spin casting fishing gear are free for
your use. The river supports a wide variety of fish
including grouper, snook, snapper, and seasonal runs
of tarpon. Come and try your luck! Games are available
including badminton, bocce ball, dominos, cards,
etc. |
