The Reno Tahoe International Airport (RNO) -- about 60 miles northeast
of South Lake Tahoe -- offers more than 100 flights daily, with non-stop
departures to 23 cities served by 10 national airlines. For reservations

The Lake Tahoe Airport (TVL)
is located three miles southwest of town.
Fuel, tiedown, hangar, catering, flight instruction, aircraft rental

You are about to embark on a scenic journey unlike any
in the world. This map is designed to guide you through many of the natural
and man-made wonders in the Lake Tahoe Basin, all on The Most Beautiful
Drive in America.
At 22 miles long and 12 miles wide, Lake Tahoe is North America's
largest alpine lake. The lake contains an estimated 39.75 million
gallons of water, enough to coverthe entire state of California to
a depth of 14 inches. The water is 99.99 percent pure, and a white
dinner plate can be seen to a depth of 67 feet. Lake Tahoe's altitude
is 6,225 feet above sea level. The California Nevada state line bisects
the lake.

north of the intersection of Highways 50 and 89. Seven highways connect
the lake with major cities in California and Nevada. From the San Francisco

South Tahoe Area Ground Express offers service throughout the South Shore
area with primary routes running from Zephyr Cove, Nevada along Highway
50 to the South "Y." STAGE operates from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.,
seven days a week.

Operated in conjunction with STAGE, Bus Plus provides convenient demand-response
(door-to-door) service within the South Lake Tahoe City limits and some
El Dorado County areas. Reliable service is available 24 hours a day in
clean and comfortable 6-8 passenger vans.
NIFTY "50" TROLLEY

Operating daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (summer only), the Trolley provides
narrated trips throughout the South Shore from Zephyr Cove to Emerald
Bay. Passengers can travel all day for only $3 and get on and off as
often as they like. Trolleys roll by every 60 minutes.

The Tahoe Queen
and the M.S. Dixie II provide free shuttles from resorts and hotels
