World Learning Mission
World Learning's mission is to enable our participants to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to contribute effectively to international understanding and global development.

The School for International Training Mission
The mission of the School for International Training is to educate students to become effective in their field of study and engaged global citizens through the rigorous integration of theory and practice.

World Learning Diversity Vision Statement
World Learning is dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding, social justice, and world peace. As a reflection of this mission, World Learning strives to create a working and learning environment which is comprised of people of many different backgrounds and which maximizes the potential of each person. Beyond the mere tolerance of difference, the organization places great value on diversity. World Learning develops and refines initiatives on an ongoing basis to encourage and support individuals as they explore, understand, and utilize the many facets of diversity and interconnectedness. Management of Alumnet
The Alumnet is managed jointly by the SIT Professional Development Resource Center (PDRC) and the World Learning Alumni Office.
  • The PDRC manages the Job Postings list.
  • The Alumni Office manages the Discussion list.
  • Both departments have administrative authority to manage and maintain Alumnet in its entirety.
  • The overall management body is the Alumnet Oversight Committee (AOC) with representatives from the PDRC, the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Information Technology Center, Educational Technology, and SIT Program Alumni.
  • The responsibilities of the AOC are to develop, maintain, and implement overall policies and procedures regarding the functioning of Alumnet.
  • Without limiting any other remedies, the AOC reserves the right to suspend or terminate individuals who do not adhere to the underlying purpose, goal, and objectives of Alumnet.
