Transportation to and From Raleigh-Durham Airport
There is also a train station in Raleigh. Services run daily to Durham, Raleigh and to several other local towns. Services are infrequent so it’s best to check times ahead of departure. Call (+1) (800) 872 7245 for information.
Bus services run between the airport and all major local destinations. These shuttles leave every 30 minutes from terminal baggage claim areas. Other shuttle and limousine services provide services from the airport. They are licensed but not endorsed by the Airport Authority.
RDU airport is approximately 10 miles from both Durham and Raleigh city centres, taking around 25 minutes by car to either destination. Interstate 40 south will take you past Raleigh. To get to Durham, take the Interstate 40 North followed by the 540 north, from where Highway 70 will take you into the city.
Taxi points are located outside baggage claim areas on the lower level of all terminal buildings at curbside. Services are metered and readily available at any time of day.
The airport has a daily/hourly car-park and four park and ride lots. Facilities can be a bit crowded at times and therefore cause short delays. The daily parking area is linked to the terminals by pedestrian tunnels. Complimentary shuttles ferry people to and from each of the airport’s park and ride facilities every 15 minutes from 05:00 am to 01:00, or last flight. Airport information: (+1) 919 840 2123
