The Ecogear Waist Pack is a great accessory for any fisherman who uses soft plastic baits regularly. I have owned one for some time & find it very suitable for storing & transporting all my gear. It is very well designed & has 10 clear plastic zip lock plastic pouches in the main section than can be easily removed or more added by simply unfastening a ring binder type clip. I find I can easily store 4 or 5 packets of soft plastic baits in each pouch so there is loads of storage capacity. Around the inside of the main compartment are 8 smaller compartments with a zip to close them & a clear viewing front so seeing what is stored in them is simple. I use them for storing my jig heads & small rolls of leader material as well. Each compartment holds 4 standard size packs of jig heads easily.
On the out side of the waist pack are 2 more compartments with zippers which are big enough to hold pliers & any other accessories you need. Also on the waist strap there are yet another 2 pouches with zippers that can be used as well. There is also an elastic strap which can be used for fastening a spray jacket to the outside of the pack. There is a section at the back where they waist straps can be stored when not in use as well & the pack can be carried by the 2 carry handles instead. The waist straps are wide & very comfortable. On both sides there are straps which can be pulled in to compress the pack so it is a slim fit & not protruding to interfere when you are fishing & can be quickly loosened to allow acces to your soft plastic collection. Conclusion
The Ecogear waist pack is a great piece of of equipment that no serious fisherman should be without. It is very well made & will last for years & having used it for a period of months now I would be lost without it. I use it when I am land based fishing & find it very comfortable to wear for long periods & does not interfere with my movements at all. When I am boat fishing I simply fold the waist straps away & use the carry handles. It holds a huge amount of gear so it is suitable for both day trips or an extended trip as well. All the gear you need is stored in one item so there's no chance of leaving anything behind. It is a really great product & I have no hesitation in recommending it to any keen fisherman.
