What to
See and Do While Visting the Avalon Region and the Baccalieu Trail
Summer & Fall Months
Blueberry Hill Bed and Breakfast is the perfect
starting point for you to explore the many attractions on the Baccalieu
Trail. There are things to do and see in all directions, and the
area has several loops, so you can drive to a point such as Bay
de Verde or Cupids, and come back by a different route. You can
have a different adventure in each community along the way.
|
The Town of Cavendish,
where Blueberry Hill is located, is a scenic fishing community
with provincially recognized craft producers, including Trinity
Knitwear and Killick
Kandles.
|
The near-by
town of New Perlican with its older homes, including salt
box houses, has a unique shoreline defined by large blue and
purple coloured boulders, which were thrown there by the force
of nature in past ages.
|
|
|
The Mouse Hole is one
the many spectacular seascapes that can be observed on both
the Trinity Bay and Conception Bay sides of the Baccalieu
Loop.
|
Discover North American roots
in more than 20 museums, including the nearby Heart's Content Cable
Museum, and significant archaeological sites. Participate in weekly
festivals held in most communities around the Baccalieu loop over
the summer months.
Inspect scenic walking trails
looking for local wild life including moose and caribou. Enjoy swimming,
mini-golf, fishing, boat tours, kayaking, horseback riding, and
much more.
Winter and Spring Months
In
winter, we are at the perfect location for cross country skiing
and skidooing. Load up your skis and/or your skidoos and come to
Cavendish to spend a weekend in the outdoors, while treating yourself
to the luxurious surroundings at Blueberry Hill.
There
is a great ski trail leading right from our door through the woods
following an old railway track. The peaceful scenery will leave
you in wonder.
