A seasoned executive in the online listings and classified business, Dan Finnigan joined HotJobs in April 2002.
Prior to joining HotJobs, Finnigan served as President of Knight Ridder Digital. In that role, he was responsible for Knight Ridder's Internet products, brands, and operations. He also served on the Board of Directors of Classified Ventures, a Chicago-based company owned by Knight Ridder, Inc., Belo Corporation, Gannett Company, The McClatchy Company, The New York Times, Tribune Company, and The Washington Post Company.
Prior to joining Knight Ridder Digital, Finnigan was President and CEO of SBC Interactive, a subsidiary of SBC Communications, where he launched and operated SMARTpages.com (formerly AtHand.com), an online national yellow pages directory. Prior to his experience at SBC Interactive, Finnigan worked with the Times Mirror Company, where he was responsible for the creation and general management of electronic information services; and new business development, where he was a key participant in the planning and formation of the Los Angeles Times' first Internet business plan. Prior to this, he was a senior consultant for The Advisory Board Company in Washington, D.C., a membership of 2,000 of the country's largest and most progressive health systems and medical centers, and a freelance reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Los Angeles Times.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master's of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
