At the Huufda, we attempt to customize your vacation to your equine interests at an affordable price.    The following topics and jumbled key words will help give you an idea for what is possible: horsemanship, equitation, gait recognition, feel, videos, workbooks, trail riding, guest speakers, balance, centered, tack, conformation, hoofs, sensitivity, swim suit, midnight moonlight, laughing, personal video and digital pictures.  Yarn, discussions, responsive, release, flexion, horse language, body language, ring confidence, identify native vegetation, breathing, zones, bug repellant, work clothes, snaffle, articles, lariat,  dressage, roping, jumping, foot falls, safety, trail and ring etiquette, exchange, books and videos, soft, cue, leads, hay mow, sing, straw bales, and best of all -- fun.  

Lessons.  Customized riding lessons utilize reference books, professional videos, our videos of you, a variety of tack and equipment, and the **horses**.  Kevin and Marie are both active, certified, horse show judges continually working on branching certifications and Marie is a licensed trainer and approved to judge gaited horses, jumping, and dressage.  We enjoy sharing proper equitation (riding form for the ring or pleasure), horsemanship skills, and enhanced enjoyment with horses.  Equitation lessons are tailored for each individual.    

Time Frame.  For a vacation package with custom lessons, we suggest planning 3 days arriving the evening before, 2 or 3 full days, and depart the next morning.  Our preference for lessons is week days of Monday through Friday as most weekends are scheduled trail rides.  Week days we will provide round-trip airport transportation for the cost of fuel.  The nearest airport is Fargo, ND ($25 fee).  Minneapolis and Sioux Falls airports are about 3-4  hours ($75).

Costs per adult for a vacation/lesson package  (3 days at $85/day) = $255 for 3 days with your own horse. Or if desiring to rent a Huufda horses (3 days at $125)=$375.    This fee includes meals, trail riding, personal video, your choice of lessons selected from our vacation/horse camp brochure, and a completion award.   The discounts are:  10% discount refunded after camp for all riding wearing an approved riding helmet AND 50% off ($20/night) for a Huufda B&B room when selecting a minimum 2 day custom lessons vacation package.

Lodging .  Huufda B&B for $40/night or 50% off/night for the camp package or RV with utilities (water/electricity) at $15 day.  Lodging is available in our local towns of Wahpeton, Hankinson, Fargo,  or nearby such as the Dakota Magic Casino (eight miles south).    

Brochure.  If you have read this far, consider the next step; request a vacation camp brochure.  The brochure suggests items to bring, time schedules, and a wide variety of lessons, horses, and riding disciplines.  Let us know your personal goals by filing out the vacation/camp brochure and send this back to us with your selections for the lessons you desire.  We do our best to customize lessons to your equine goals.  

Deposit.  After your selected date is confirmed and reserved, we request a deposit of $85 made to Huufda Hotel.  We will return this deposit if notified of your cancellation two weeks in advance.
