The Autobahn Tube Hill has been extremely successful so far this year. You ride one of our tubes up the mountain, shown on the left, and then come down one of about six or seven different runs. The weather of the day determines how fast or slow the runs are. Sunny and cold means very fast. Snowy conditions will slow the tubes down until the snow stops. The full runs are 800 feet long. Don't be fooled by the picture, it is a little steeper when you look down. For more information go to our Autobahn Page FOR A MAP OF THE AREA AND DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO GET TO HOODOO PLEASE GO TO THE FRONT OF THE CAMPGROUND SECTION BY CLICKING HERE The Autobahn Tube Area has been very well received in its 2003-04 inaugural year. The normal fee covers two hours giving you an intense experience of sliding up the hill on one of our tubes attached to the tube lift and then choosing one of up to seven runs to come down on. We provide the tubes, the tow, and the runs, and it is your job to provide the laughs. The Autobahn is located at the edge of our 800 acre permit area at the base of the Hayrick Mt. The entrance is just before the entrance to the Ray Benson Snopark. For those who do not know the area at all. Come to the top of the Santiam Pass on Hwy 20, turn south toward Hoodoo Ski Area, and just before the entrance to the parking area, turn left on the Big Lake Rd and Ray Benson road. Proceed for about 500 feet and then turn right into the Autobahn parking area. You will see our yurt warming hut and ticket area. Bathrooms and complete lunch facilities are available at the ski lodge and some food is available at the yurt. Parking in any of the Hoodoo parking areas is free. Parking at the nearby Ray Benson Snopark does need a Snopark permit. They are available for purchase at our lodge. The Autobahn opens at 10 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. We will also be open on President's Day and Spring Vacation. If you have a group of 60 or more we can open the hill for you on other days too with enough advance notice. Don't know what a hodag is?
