The mission of the School for International Training
is to prepare students to be interculturally effective leaders,
professionals, and citizens. In so doing, SIT fosters a worldwide
network of individuals and organizations committed to responsible
global citizenship. Through experiential, field-based learning,
SIT participants prepare to advance international understanding,
work effectively in multicultural environments, and achieve sustainable
development at the community level and on a national or global
scale.

Graduate Programs
Master
of Arts in Teaching Program
SIT prepares a special class of educators--skilled in technical teaching
methodologies and conscious of their roles as teachers of culture and
advocates for intercultural understanding. The degree emphasizes language
classroom practice through on-campus coursework and a supervised teaching
internship. Concentrations are available in English to Speakers of Other
Languages (ESOL), Spanish, and French, with options for public school
certification.
- Academic Year Master of
Arts in Teaching
Earn your master's degree in one year, including a mid-program
teaching practicum. Benefit from the support of SIT's strong and diverse
learning community as you share challenges, examine commonalities,
and master essential skills.
- Summer Master of Arts in
Teaching
Join working professionals from all over the world on the
SIT campus for two intensive eight-week sessions in consecutive summers.
Return to your job site in the interim year for a supervised teaching
practicum, supported by SIT faculty on-site and online.
Program in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Mangement
Through on-campus coursework, a professional practicum, and a capstone
paper and seminar, participants build the managerial and training skills
required for international careers.
- Master of Arts in Conflict
Transformation
Develop practical skills in interethnic dialogue, intercommunal relationship
building, negotiation, and group facilitation within a supportive
learning community that emphasizes reflection, self-knowledge, and
cultural awareness. Become part of a worldwide network of skilled
peacebuilders working with governments, academic institutions, nongovernmental
organizations, the media, and the private sector as advocates, catalysts,
and trainers helping communities heal and embrace peace.
- Master of Arts in International
Education
Prepare for careers in study abroad, international student services,
international recruitment, or student advising. Optional concentrations:

- Master of Science in Organizational
Management
Prepare for management roles in mission-driven organizations,
both nonprofit and for-profit. Develop technical skills and an understanding
of the cultural, social, and environmental contexts of management.

Justice in Intercultural Relations
Prepare for careers in multicultural organization development,
citizen capacity building, and multinational human resource development.

Tailor your degree to meet your specific career development needs
or explore several career alternatives through this self-designed
option.
- Postgraduate Diploma and
Master's Degree in NGO Leadership and Management
Skills-oriented learning for experienced managers of NGOs from
the Global South and others working in organizations that support
such NGOs. Offered through the Global Partnership for NGO Studies,
Education, and Training.

to enhance their careers and accelerate their professional development
through distance education, graduate or continuing education programs,
short courses, and summer classes.
