It took untill now but I finally got my christmas present to myself today. It was well worth the wait, she has all the bells and whistles one could ask for. It's a 2004 F-250 XLT super cab with fx4 four wheel drive and an 8 foot bed. This will make the drive to town so much more enjoyable. Aloha Capt Rusty

This bird stayed there long enough for me to get my camera out and take a few shots of him. This was the first time that this had ever happened to us. In the past we had a homing pigeon land on the boat and we took it home and let it go , only to find out that it had been let go on the big island. We have even seen owls flying around in a flock of shearwaters. You never know what we may find out there. Aloha Capt Rusty

I thought I would use this space to show some shots that don't usually get to be here, like Scot and his spiney friend. I am in the process of ordering all the parts we will need to get our drydock done. The big surf did not come today as forcast, but the big wind yesterday was wild, with gusts in places up to 64 mph. It was a good day to be out of the water. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 7:00 on this day of 20 mph sw winds going to a buoy.  We got our stripper on the way out, and Dan got to reel it in. At the buoy we took a mahi hit on the rigger and Eric reeled it in. Then we jigged and got 2 live aku and ran them, then we baited but only small aku and shibi came up. We trolled around for awhile then headed in. In the harbor both Eric and Peter ate eyeballs from the stripper, good going. This will be our last trip untill after our yearly drydock, I will be posting  our progress. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of light se winds going to a buoy. Near the buoy we found a 55 gal drum floating and took a triple 2 small onos and a 16 pound mahi and got them all. At the buoy we  started baiting and got some small shibi before the bigger ones came around. We had a few good passes, then on one we got three on one pass. Then a shark came around and it ate one of  our live baits, while it was on the shibi were up and eating, we got 2 that pass. Back in the harbor there were no eyeballs consumed. These guys did great reeling these fish in. We also saw about 5 different groups of whales today, it's whale season. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Sam Ulissi had a little help catching 19 shibi 2 mahi and some aku
We got going at 5:00 on this day of light and variable winds going to a buoy. Before we got there we took 2 striper hits but they both came off. We got 2 shibi on our first pass then went to bait and started getting bigger shibi, 2 and 3 a pass. when they slowed down we jigged and only got small shibi and aku so we went back to baiting and got a few more. On light line these shibi are a good fight, as Sam can tell you. A 25 pound mahi came by and we hooked it up on 40 pound test no leader and managed to get it, Sam did a great job on that one. On our way in we hooked a small mahi at a crab trap on bait. In the harbor Sam declined an eyeball, but that was fine cause he made up for that by being a very proficent angler, he is an avid fisherman and it showed. It was a great day, good going Sam. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Lisa Figlino, and Michael McGarry caught 2 mahi and a bunch of small aku and shibi and 30 opelu
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 mph north winds going to the J buoy. We got some small aku and shibi at the J and then baited and got some more small ones. Then we went to the II buoy and on the way we hooked up a nice big mahi, and Michael did a great job reeling it in, it was a 27 pound bully. At the II we got one small shibi and then went back to the J, we got more aku and shibi there. On the way in we hooked a 10 pound mahi and Lisa did real good job of reeling it in. At a crab trap we got 30 opelu and ran one live but nothing took it. In the harbor both Lisa and Michael were game to eat mahi eyeballs, These folks were lots of fun and did great. Aloha Capt Rusty
