Overview: The Research Project Manager
(RPM) is a senior member of the IBACOS technical staff with a minimum
of 5-7 years of experience in relevant technical roles. The RPM’s
work focuses on the management of complex building science projects.
Primary Job Duties
-
Provide end-to-end accountability for complex
building science projects. Specifically, lead initiatives related
to the thermal and moisture performance of ground contact systems.

Provide leadership, daily management, mentoring
and support for all IBACOS resources engaged in the project(s)
for which the RPM is responsible.

Provide management oversight and support for
all non-IBACOS resources engaged in the project(s) for which
the RPM is responsible (including contractors, clients and vendors).
-
Provide technical guidance on building science
issues to all resources engaged in the project(s) for which
the RPM is responsible.

Provide reports and frequent assessments of
project related activities to IBACOS senior management
-
Develop, support and sustain long term relationships
with IBACOS technical staff, clients, contractors and vendors
-
Deliver projects on time and on budget
-
Production of deliverables, reports and products
associated with assigned projects
-
Assess building science analysis and design
processes, workflows etc. and software based building science
analysis tools
-
Support the performance review process by assisting
senior management in evaluating IBACOS technical staff and offering
recommendations for relevant training and professional development
-
Assess building science analysis and design

Presentation of findings at industry conferences
and in technical journals and publications
Required Skills / Experience
-
Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Architecture,
Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience
in a building science and / or residential architecture environment
-
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
as project manager / leader
-
Expert level knowledge of accepted project management
methodologies and best practices
-
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
-
Demonstrated team leadership capabilities

Overview: The Building Performance Specialist
– HVAC focus is a member of the IBACOS technical staff with
a minimum of a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in HVAC
systems (or alternately, a BS in Architectural Engineering). The
Building Performance Specialist’s work focuses on the analysis,
selection and design integration of mechanical systems for new
homes.
Primary Job Duties

Energy modeling and analysis of homes

Systems integration

Development of design and construction details

Technical and project management support of
IBACOS’ pilot home and demonstration projects

Writing and review of technical reports

Support of online course development for IBACOS
sister company, BuildIQ

Support of technical communications material

Investigation of new building products, systems
and construction assemblies

Field testing of homes, configuration and installation
of monitoring equipment.

Mechanical equipment selection
-
Integration of IBACOS drawings with customer
design documentation

Field verification of HVAC system design

Communication with IBACOS’ customers
Secondary Job Duties
Required Skills / Experience
-
BS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in
HVAC systems (or alternately, a BS in Architectural Engineering)
-
Experience using Manual J, S, and D.
-
Experience using AutoCAD and energy modeling
software.
-
Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate
effectively.

Experience working in the field with builders
or trade contractors is a plus.
