Child Labor Education and Action Project
(CLEA)
A partnership between SIT and Brattleboro Union High School, CLEA prepares
youth advocates to eradicate abusive child labor policies and practices,
develops models for education and action, and promotes citizen leadership
to strengthen the capacity of child labor reform initiatives in the
U.S. and internationally.
Confidence Building Workshop
for Cypriot University Scholars
A one-week bicommunal workshop focusing on intercultural communication
and team-building for Greek- and Turkish-Cypriot university students
studying at U.S. universities on Fulbright Cyprus-American Scholarship
Program (CASP) scholarships.
Cypriot Youth Camps
Greek- and Turkish-Cypriot teens come to SIT to build relationships
and trust by breaking down cultural barriers and deeply held misconceptions.
The bicommunal dialogue program and peace camp is led by SIT faculty
and by trainers from the north and south sides of the divided island.
Governor's Institute on Current
Issues and Youth Activism
Forty high school students from all over Vermont come to the SIT campus
every summer to meet face to face with community and state leaders,
address current issues and assess how youth can respond effectively
to their concerns.
International Youth Peacebuilding
Camp
SIT's two-week summer peacebuilding and leadership camps bring together
youth from around the world to dialogue on issues, build peer and mentor
relationships, and begin a global network of youth peacebuilders.
