State, Flint Hills Reach Agreement on Royalty
February 9, 2004(Fairbanks) - Governor Frank H. Murkowski announced today that the State of Alaska has reached agreement with Flint Hills Resources on the sale of North Slope royalty oil for use in the North Pole refinery Flint Hills is buying from Williams. The contract allows Flint Hills to purchase up to 77,000 barrels per day for up to 10 years. Details >

Interior AK Forest Products Project Under Way
February 6, 2004(Juneau) -- The Governor's office today announced the inception of a project designed to increase forest products manufacturing in Interior Alaska. The project is under the guidance of a steering committee composed of representatives from the Alaska Division of Forestry, Tanana Chiefs Conference, Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation, and other organizations. Governor Proposes Alaska Veterans Home click to listen
February 5, 2004 (Juneau) - Governor Frank H. Murkowski today introduced a bill that designates a home in the Alaska Pioneer Home system as a state Veterans Home. The bill also enables the State of Alaska to access Veterans Benefits, Medicaid, and other sources to fund the Alaska Pioneer Home system. "Taken together, these actions serve Alaska veterans and help sustain the Pioneer Home system and the Alaska Veterans Home for future years," Murkowski said. Details >
