Members of the National Trust can get more from their membership by joining
their local Association, or, as they are known in some areas, their local
Centre or Club.
There are now around 200 such groups in England, Wales and Northern Ireland,
as well as in Belgium and Germany. As you can see from the contact details
in the searchable directory, there's almost certainly one that covers your
area.
Associations are affiliated to the National Trust and have a common constitution.
Independent local groups run by members for members, they have a small subscription
charge to cover administration costs.
Associations exist to promote the work of the National Trust and make membership
more enjoyable by allowing members to share their interest with like-minded
people in their area. Through an organised year-long programme of talks,
outings, holidays and social events members make friends, learn more about
the National Trust and its properties and support its work.
