Connecticut offers fine bass
fishing for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. While most of our
lakes and ponds would be considered small, the quality of our fisheries
make up for what they lack in acreage. The state record for largemouth
bass exceeds twelve pounds and the smallmouth bass record is over
seven pounds. Respectable fish in any state.
The Connecticut River has played host to several major bass
fishing tournaments. Most notably, a B.A.S.S. sponsored event won
by Roland Martin, the Foxwoods Bass Challenge Tournament of Champions,
and the B.A.S.S. Federation Eastern Regional Championship.
Our bass club is a member of
the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and the Connecticut B.A.S.S. Federation.
In October of 2003 we celebrated our 25th anniversary with
a current roster of 23 members.
A really fine group of die-hard
bass fishermen who love this sport as much as anyone can. Good people,
good times. They really are the best.
The tournament trail has been chosen and the pairings
are available.
